Sanding, staining and refinishing hardwood floors
One of the easiest and least expensive ways to give your home a makeover is to sand and refinish your hardwood floors. Whether it's to fix the scratches in the wood or to change the color for a whole new look (e.g. go lighter to brighten up the room or go darker to make it more cozy or more formal) - either way, it's a huge face lift.
If you have hardwood underneath your carpet, by all means, pull it up and leverage your assets. It will be less expensive to refinish your hardwood floors than replace the carpet, and will improve the value of your home, not to mention that it's easier to clean.
If you are selling your home, this is a "must do" project; if you are moving into a new home, it's perfect to do right before you move in. Below are some pictures to show you the refinishing process. This one is on a parquet floor. First step is to sand the top layer. This removes the stain color and any imperfections. We typically sand with 3 cuts - each time it's a finer grade of sand paper. Second step is to apply a coat of stain (unless you want it natural). Third step is to buff and add the coats of polyurethane. The whole process can take several days (due to drying times) and after that, it looks like a whole new home.
We do offer a dustless refinishing system, and if you need us to, we can move the furniture. We can do water based or oil based polyurethane. This is definitely a project you want to leave to the professionals.
